What first drew you to the web industry?

One day I had a unique idea to create a social media site which pays users for posting articles, short content, photos, and videos. But to develop and design a social media site, I needed to learn more about web development and design. So, that’s why I’m trying to learn everything about the web.

What work were you doing when you first joined Treehouse & what encouraged you to learn with us?

When I joined Treehouse, I had no idea what HTML, CSS and JavaScript were, but I knew I needed to, so I chose the Web Design Track and start learning. My first teacher was Nick Pettit; he’s awesome and taught me how to create a website and then advanced HTML. My second teacher was Guil, who taught me everything about CSS and how we can change the appearance of a web page. After that, I moved onto the more advanced videos.

How long have you been learning with Treehouse?

I joined Treehouse in December 2014 and after only a month I have a strong understanding of HTML and web design. Now I’m focusing on learning mobile app development.

I also want to give credit to Treehouse because without Treehouse, I couldn’t have made my dream real.

What job did you have before learning with Treehouse and what job do you have now?

In the past, I was a student with no job, but after I was admitted into college and enrolled in Treehouse and learned web design and development, I was able to start freelance work. I quickly landed my first four projects, one of which is now complete and the others are still in progress. So, Treehouse changed my life.

What has the value of a Treehouse education meant to you?

In simple words, I can say that if I attended any college to learn web development and design, it would take me at least a year to learn what I did in one month at Treehouse. My Treehouse education, therefore, means a lot to me. I plan to continue learning with Treehouse until I complete every Track and every course in the Library.

What are your plans for the future, and what’s up next on your learning path?

In the future, I’d like to open a full-time web development and design business, and to help other peoples/students to succeed online by teaching them about web development.

My website idea, earnm.in, is now available online. I also want to give credit to Treehouse because without them, I couldn’t have made my dream real.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with new students who are aspiring web developers?

There is nothing we can’t do. We may face some problems while typing our first code, but after some time, once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll easily be able to write any program or web page. If a 12-year-old can sell his app to Yahoo for $30 million, then why can’t we? First, learn everything about HTML, CSS, JavaScript and all the other programming languages. Then you can build any program you can imagine.
