Techdegree certificate.

Hi there,

I've been thinking about enrolling the 'Frontend Techdegree program' and I wonder whether the authenticity of the 'certificate of completion' can be verified by clicking in some link or something, as happens in other organisms, learning platforms etc.

Thanks

I'm not sure about your specific question but I can tell you that "authenticity" will always be verified by projects you've made and posted on github. That's what employers are going to look at. People who have signed up for the Tech-degree all report a great experience, but honestly, with certificates all over the internet its still your actual projects that will verify you the most.

Hi Jose,

When you complete the Techdegree you receive a PDF certificate of completion, as well as a portfolio of 12 projects on GitHub. We don't provide a "verification" link -- that's an interesting idea, that I've not hear of before. Do you have an example of that, which you could share with us?

I didn't want to show explicit examples but since you are asking for it... ...There are other education platforms that offer this nowadays:

a) edx: when you finish a course you get a .pdf certificate with a link to their site, so a potential employer can verify that it is an authentic certificate issued for that platform instead of a photoshopped copy. issued certificates by edx

b) Freecodecamp: example of a freecodecamp certificate

PS. I think this feature would be interesting for your students. In any case you are doing well and your content is highly recommended for those who want to increase their web development skills.

Hi Jose,

As Dave mentioned you receive a certificate of completion after finishing the techdegree, and I am happy to tell you that it is in fact possible to verify the certificate. Here's a link to my certificate: Front End Web Development Techdegree Certificate, and as you can see the certificate is verified by Accredible.

I'll tag Dave McFarland so that he can see that Treehouse actually has this feature already through Accredible.

I hope that helps.

Jonas

Jose,

What stjarnan says :) He knows the program better than I do! Thanks @stjarnan!

Do you get a certificate for completing the self-taught track or is the certificate only for the actual Tech-Degree users?
