Select all of these.
-
0:03
And, if we wanna make sure that the space is distributed
-
0:09
evenly, bring up to Window > Align.
-
0:13
And bring up these Align tools.
-
0:16
These are also available in the Control Panel.
-
0:19
If I hit Align right here, that's another way to access this panel, so
-
0:23
you could do either one.
-
0:25
And we want to vertically distribute this center, I believe.
-
0:30
Oop, not that one.
-
0:32
So, actually that is correct, but
-
0:34
right now what's happening is it's aligning to the art board,
-
0:39
and we want it to distribute between the selection, not within the art board.
-
0:43
So, I am gonna hit Undo, Edit > Undo Align.
-
0:47
So Edit > Undo, anytime you hit Cmd+Z, you are gonna undo what you just did.
-
0:53
It's a fabulous, fabulous tool.
-
0:56
And let's try that one more time.
-
0:59
So we need to set our target rather than to align to the art board,
-
1:04
we want it to align to the selection.
-
1:07
So, align to selection.
-
1:11
And now, we'll do vertically distribute center.
-
1:14
Awesome.
-
1:14
So, it's distributing between here and not using the artboard as the reference.
-
1:25
Next, we need to have a place for our logo.
-
1:28
So, our logo is gonna be located up here in our header.
-
1:34
And I just need to have a placeholder for that.
-
1:37
To do something different, we can use a rounded rectangle.
-
1:41
Okay.
-
1:45
So I'm gonna click off.
-
1:52
Now I want this logo box to be
-
1:57
centered within my header.
-
2:02
And again we can use these align and distribute tools to help us do that, and
-
2:03
it's a little bit different so I'm gonna click my logo box.
-
2:04
I'll click the header.
-
2:10
These are the two objects I need to have relate to each other.
-
2:15
But I want the header to be my target, so I'm gonna click it one more time.
-
2:20
I don't have to hold anything,
-
2:24
I'm just talking it one more time and
-
2:29
I assign that as the target.
-
2:32
And now, I'm going to, yeah horizontal align center and
-
2:35
then I also need vertical align center.
-
2:37
Perfect and it's using the header as the target.
-
2:40
So that's a really great handy too.
-
2:43
And so you can see what's happening here.
-
2:47
It sets align to and this time we have set a target or key object.
-
2:49
As opposed to the art border selection.
