BuddyPress Profile Page1:09 with Zac Gordon
The profile page is where people can go to view all of the information about a BuddyPress site member. This includes their activity, their social connections and any other custom information added to their profile.
From our main members page we should be able to
click on a user and go directly to their user page.
We could see in the URL that they have a unique
URL based on their user name, a place where their picture
will go, and a bunch of tabs showing their activity, their
profile information, what friends they have, what groups they belong to.
Underneath some of these, for example Profile, we should see other tabs
to view or, if we're viewing our own profile, the option to edit.
We can get to our own profile by clicking on Members, and finding ourself.
Or by using the toolbar if we have
it installed and just clicking on ourselves there.
Notice that when
I'm under my own profile I have the option
to view as well as edit and change my avatar.
Before we move into editing our information, I want
to show how you could set up custom user fields.
Since often you'll want to display more information than just the person's name.
