Changing Background Colors0:57 with Nick Pettit
Changing the look of a webpage is easy with Cascading Style Sheets, also known as CSS. In this video, we'll introduce some basic CSS syntax and change a background color.
That wasn't so hard, was it?
We'll learn about lots of tags as we move along.
Now, let's change the background color
of the HTML page to light blue.
To change the background color,
we're going to go ahead and open up a style tag
and then we'll close it.
This is exactly the same thing that we did when we created our first-level headline.
Now I'm going to go ahead and select the body of our page
and open up some curly braces.
Then I'm going to type in
and then I'm going to type the word "light blue."
Then I'll go ahead and save that, switch over to the browser,
and when we refresh the page,
you can see that the background is now light blue.
Now you go ahead and try it.
