[Careers Foundations with Dan Gorgone] [Personal Branding Deep Dive]
Now that we've looked inward to determine what matters to us most,
it's time to take what we've learned about ourselves
and start communicating to the world.
Personal websites, industry blogs, and social media
allow individuals to promote themselves to an online audience like never before.
Just like corporate branding, personal branding is all about establishing who you are
and what you do.
However, in this case, your focus is to create content
that reflects your individual personality, interests, skills, and expertise.
But this is more than just a resume.
It's about proving to others—and perhaps yourself—how serious you are
about the path you've chosen.
Your dream job will not magically appear.
While improving yourself and your skills, you also have to work
to increase your chances to get the job you want.
Personal branding might sound like posturing or showing off,
but if you want anyone to believe in you, you have to believe in yourself.
In this series of videos, we'll discuss some of the ways
you can establish your own personal brand by targeting the right channels,
sharing the work you've done, and creating great content.
