Chart Design1:13 with Michael Watson
Overview of the pre-packaged chart design formatting tools in Excel.
Excel has a feature which lets you quickly change the design of your chart
based on some preset packages they have built.
So, if we click this chart, and go to Design, right here,
there's this section that has a bunch of different prebuilt designs.
So, if I go here, and I'm not clicking on these, I'm just scrolling over them,
you can see there is a total different styles that are prebuilt.
Some have gradients, some have different coloring,
very different coloring, here you can see the background has this line on it.
What design you chose will often depend on your organization or
your own personal tastes.
For example, I like to keep the colors relatively simple and
avoid using any of the 3D or shadow glow features that are available in Excel.
As you play around with charts and visualization more and more, you'll
probably create your own personal style, and develop your own personal preferences.
But make sure that you're always thinking about the people that you're working with,
and the audience you're telling your story to.
