Class components offer a more powerful way to build components because they're the only type of components that let you use state.
React Update
Since the introduction of React 16 state is now also available in functional components. This course will continue with teaching you how to use state in Class-based components. If you're interested in learning more about using state in functional components we recommend following our React Components course after you have completed React Basics.
