An Overview of Menus in WordPress0:57 with Zac Gordon
In this video we give an overview of the topics this course will cover: how menus work, custom menu item fields, and the Walker class.
Hi, I'm Zach, WordPress teacher at Tree House and
I'd like to welcome you to our course Custom Menu Development in WordPress.
This course is designed for
WordPress developers who have worked before with custom themed development.
And reached the point when they would like to customize the menus in WordPress.
This course came to light particularly for people working with Bootstrap who wanted
to be able to mimic the icon driven menus that Bootstrap makes possible.
We'll start off in this course doing a brief overview of how menus work in
the admin area and in templates.
And then we'll move into showing how to add custom fields to the menu
Finally, we'll turn to the walker class,
which controls how menus get displayed on the front end of the site.
Let's start off with a quick overview of how the menu settings page and
admin area works by default and what's available.
