Downloading Drupal1:44 with Diane Douglas
We will download Drupal from the http://drupal.org site.
Go to www.drupal.org/start and
click on the Download Drupal button.
On the next page scroll down, and click the download link to get a zip
of the most recent of the recommended releases for Drupal version 7.
At the time of this lesson, this is version 7.38 that we want.
After it's finished downloading, unarchive it and you will end up with a folder
Here we go.
Mac users can put this on their desktop or anywhere really.
But PC users will need to place this directory
into their new C\websites directory.
This folder is our master project directory.
Let's rename it to something more specific to our project.
We'll call ours, cameron-site.
Inside of this project directory, you should see a ton of files and
folders, including modules and
profiles, and scripts, and of course, sites.
Just like we showed in the lesson on the parts of a Drupal project.
Most of these files and
folders just need to be in the correct place in your directory structure.
You shouldn't modify them,
because as I discussed earlier, that would be hacking core.
And you shouldn't mess with those core files.
