The Products Section1:09 with Zac Gordon
WooCommerce adds a custom post area to WordPress called Products. This area contains the products for your site as well as some other settings related to products. In this video we go over the products section and introduce the product edit page.
Products lie at the heart of an e-commerce website in
the same way that content lies at the heart of a basic Web site.
Over the next several videos, we're going to get into setting up and tweaking demos
of each of the different types of products WooCommerce supports out of the box.
But first, let's take a look at the Products section in the admin area.
When we install WooCommerce, as we looked at,
we get this whole new Products section.
It has the ability for us to view our products, add them, set up categories and
tags, which work the exact same way as you would expect with categories and
tags for posts and pages.
However, they're only available for products.
We have our shipping classes, which we looked at before, and attributes, which
we'll get into in a little bit more depth when we start adding our products and
looking at variable products.
In order to do that though, we have to start with looking at
the different types of products that are available in WooCommerce.
