Run the last pieces to ensure the App is running smoothly
In this course we've learned about integrating Google Play services
to create personalized features, and
take advantage of the rich cloud services Google offers to Android developers.
Here's what we've learned; registering our app with a third party API,
like Etsy adding the Google Play Services library into our code, using
Retrofit to access an API and display them in a beautiful way using RecyclerView,
connecting to Google Play Services with clean organized code we can re-use in
future apps, and accessing Google+ API's, like Plus On and Sharing.
Now that you know the basics, you can add in great services like maps, casting,
or analytics to help you take your app to the next level.
All the information you need is in the documentation
which I've linked to in the teacher's notes.
Here are a few ideas you might want to try out.
Create an app that detects your current location and displays it on a map.
Tap into a location service, like Yelp, and show restaurants on the map near you.
Cast selected photos stored in Google+ as a collage on the big screen.
Finally, use analytics to track which screens your users visit most often,
or how often a user taps on a particular button.
I had a great time building our Etsy recommendations app, and
I hope to see your apps in the Google Play Store soon.
