Default Comments in WordPress1:25 with Zac Gordon
WordPress comes with a robust commenting system that let's you easily post, moderate and respond to comments. In this first video we go over how commenting in WordPress works.
Comments in WordPress work pretty much how you would expect.
You can find an article that you like, scroll to the
bottom, and find the comment field here you can post the comment.
You'll notice that it's telling us that you're logged in as Z Gordon.
When I'm logged in as site admin, and I
post a comment, it automatically shows up on the site.
However, this process is a little bit different if I'm not logged into the site.
If I open up a new browser
and visit the site without being logged in, notice than now when I go to post a
comment, I see a comment form that asks for
my name, email, website, as well as the comment.
[SOUND] I could post this comment, but
notice that this time, although
it displays it, it also says, your
comment is awaiting moderation.
Let's take a look now then at what comment moderation looks like in WordPress.
