WordPress Blogging Features1:15 with Zac Gordon
WordPress has a complete blogging system built into it's core functionality. In this video we go over WordPress's core blogging related features.
Before Wordpress spread its wings and turned into
a full-fledged content-management system, it started as blogging software.
Because of this, WordPress has a complete blogging feature set at its core,
rather than having blogging added as
an afterthought to an existing content-management system.
WordPress offers the ability to easily write, publish, and
edit blog posts, categorize and tag content in the admin
area that then shows up as widgets, links, and
entire archived pages on the front end of the site.
You can easily allow for and moderate user comments on posts.
And, with the help of a few plugins that
we'll mention later in the course, you can even
do some pretty intense integration between your WordPress site,
and content, and communities on a variety of social networks.
WordPress gets better and better at letting you
add, edit, and display media of all types.
So, you can express yourself on your blog with content of a huge variety.
If you stack WordPress up against the other
major blogging platforms out there, you'll find it's
capable of doing just about anything the others
of software do, and in some cases, much more.
