Editing Media in WordPress1:26 with Zac Gordon
WordPress has a small built in suite of tools that let you crop, rotate and flip images. This can help if you need to do some small edits to the images you're using on your WordPress site. In this video we go over the built in WordPress editing tools.
WordPress also has some image editing capabilities that are pretty useful.
If we go to add an image to this page again, we can click on edit image.
This will give us some options for cropping the image,
rotating it, flipping it, and undoing the changes that we did.
For example, if I wanted to crop this down,
I could crop it, save it, and
then when I insert in that image, it will show that modified cropped image.
If at any point we need to, WordPress will always remember that original image.
So, know that you could always go back and click restore image.
It also has a cool feature where if you wanted to crop just
a thumbnail, or not the thumbnail size image, you could do that as well.
So, for example, if I wanted the thumbnail to just look
like this, I could say apply these changes just to the thumbnail.
Keep in mind, the one thing that this WordPress
editing tool does not do, is optimize your image.
So, it's going to be a good idea that you look into how
to do that outside of working WordPress, so that your images load quickly.
