Featured Images in WordPress1:09 with Zac Gordon
WordPress has the ability to assign a single photo to represent a post. These are called featured images. They show up differently in different themes, but are all setup the same way in the admin area. In this video we go over how to work with Featured Images in WordPress.
One of the other ways you could work with images in WordPress are featured images.
Let's come back into our post, delete the gallery
that we had, and scroll down to Featured Image.
Here we can either upload images as we have been doing, or
select from one that we've already uploaded and click Set Featured Image.
Notice that we don't have the option for sizes here.
Once we select featured image, WordPress knows that
that image is associated with this specific post.
And then, different themes will use that image
in different ways to go along with that post.
For example, when we view our post now, we can see that
this image appears nice and large behind the top of this article.
Different themes will display featured images in different formats.
However, the way to edit them is always the same.
You'll come in here, edit post page and then simply select the featured image.
