[Build a Business Through Blogging with C.C. Chapman: Moving Beyond the Blog] [Deep Dive]
0:00
We've talked about setting up your blog.
0:04
We've talked about how to find the content you're going to create
0:06
and how to monetize that.
0:08
Now, we're gonna talk about moving beyond your blog
0:10
and focusing on you, the person behind the blog.
0:13
One of the first things that you can do to get more attention
0:16
and more business is to become a thought leader.
0:19
You see this turn thrown out a lot these days.
0:22
But you know what, it's a really really important thing
0:24
if you want to grow your audience.
0:27
You'll become a thought leader by becoming a person
0:29
people go to for specific niche or a platform or programming language.
0:31
The more that people are coming to you for the answers
0:37
and that they are subscribing and they come back on a regular basis
0:40
The more people are gonna consider you that leader.
0:43
Think about it.--think about those people--if someone were to ask you
0:47
"Hey, who's the best person for this topic?"
0:50
People come to mind for you, right?
0:52
Those are the thought leaders. That is what I'm talking about.
0:54
You want to be the person that people are going to recommend.
0:56
"Oh, you've got to go read their site."
0:58
Because you're creating that great content.
1:00
This also becomes interesting with sites like Kred and Klout--
1:03
these other networking sites that rank people based on their influence.
1:06
It's a big messy thing that's changing all the time,
1:10
But, go out and look at those platforms.
1:14
Look at those areas where you think you wan to become the thought leader
1:17
and see who--those were in the services--think the thought leaders are now.
1:20
Look at what they're doing and figure out where to go hey go from there.
