Installing VirtualBox1:34 with Jay McGavren
First we'll need to download and install VirtualBox itself.
First, we're going to need to download and install the VirtualBox software.
Just do a web search for VirtualBox, and visit VirtualBox.org.
Click on the downloads page.
The computer that you'll be running VirtualBox on is referred to as the host,
whereas, the virtual operating system that you'll be running on it is called guest.
So we need to download a host platform for our particular OS.
I'm running on Mac, so I'll click on the OS X hosts link.
It'll begin downloading a disk image, and then I just click on that to open it.
Okay, and as the instructions say here,
I'm just going to double click on this icon and it'll run the installer.
Okay, I'm going to confirm that the installation can proceed.
I'll type my password.
And click Close when it's complete.
Then as it suggests,
I'm going to go to my Applications folder and run the VirtualBox application.
Double click VirtualBox.app to run it, and
now VirtualBox is installed and ready for us to install Linux on.
