It Depends On You1:15 with Craig Dennis
The future **depends** on you.
- Twitter has a few APIs that you can grab relatively easily.
- Can you use it to tweet out of an app? What about making the Sup App from Build a JavaFX Application course. Send me a Sup!
- Use the HoseBird Client to watch all Java Content, have it write out stuff you are interested in.
- Spark is a micro web-framework. Can you get it up and running?
So, there you have it.
A quick introduction into using dependencies and
a really quick drive by of the amazing build tool, Gradle.
You'll find that most other tasks that you want to perform in Gradle,
are that easy to do, as long as you go with the convention.
Remember, that there are more advanced ways to manage these dependencies.
They just require a bit more configuration.
The Gradle API is rich and very extensible.
Just about anything you can dream up can be done with relative ease.
And when done right, it's usually pretty legible too.
If you'd like a workshop on more advanced dependency management with Gradle or
even another build tool, please make your voice heard.
You and your fellow students are really helping us guide where these
courses are headed.
So, I'd like to make sure and thank the students who requested and voted for
I'll drop some info in the teachers' notes on how you can request more.
I hope this provides an awesome jumping off point for you.
The future depends on you.
You see what I did there?
I've also included some project ideas that you could do
using some awesome open source libraries.
If you find or know of an awesome library that everyone needs to know about,
please share it with the community.
I look forward to seeing what you build, and I hope you had a fun time.
Thanks for hanging out.
See you real soon.
