Layout: Before1:24 with Hope Armstrong
Review the design of an iOS app then brainstorm and implement ideas to improve the layout.
Hi, I am Hope.
In this practice session, you'll practice redesigning a layout.
I'll present you with an existing design and
I encourage you to experiment with improving the layout.
Here's a design from mobile iOS app.
It's a tool for grade school teachers to use in the classroom.
The viewer seeing here is the list of classes.
Each card shows a summary of information about the class, and
users can click through to see the class details.
At the bottom, there's a list of buttons that link to the other views.
The people screen displays all the students and parents.
The tool screen displays various classroom tools, and
the messages screen provides a way for everyone to communicate.
Let's focus on redesigning the classes screen as it's the main view in the app.
Do you see anything that's confusing?
How might you improve the layout?
Download the project files and you'll see a couple of Figma files.
Open the file that's labeled before and make the improvements.
If you haven't used Figma yet, you can open a free account.
When you have a solution, check out the next video and
I'll share the improvements I made.
