Manipulation0:50 with Craig Dennis
You are going to want to make changes to your DataFrame, let's mutate!
Great job exploring how to select data.
If you've used SQL, or Structured Query Language, before,
that probably felt pretty familiar to a select statement with a where clause.
In a bit here, we'll look at some more similarities like merging and joining.
First, though, let's take a look at manipulation.
When you're working with data,
you definitely want to be able to manipulate it.
For instance, with the data frame, you'll most likely wanna update specific values.
You'll probably wanna add a row or
even a brand new column to an existing data frame.
Well, the great news is data frames are mutable.
So you can add and remove data, changing the shape of the original data frame.
You'll find that the big part of dealing with data involves rejittering it into
exactly what makes the most sense for whatever goal you're trying to accomplish.
Let's explore some of the more common methods for manipulating data frames and
build up some of those muscles that you're gonna need.
