Native Audio File Support in WordPress1:41 with Zac Gordon
In this video we look at how to upload and embed audio files into WordPress as well as embed audio files from external sites.
Try uploading the sample audio file and displaying it on your site with the native WordPress audio player.
WordPress has a great built in embeddable audio player.
This audio player lets you upload mp3 and other supported audio types,
that we can see here and you could find a link to in the video notes, and
let's you display that directly on your site with a great looking player.
Let's come in now and add a new blog post called New Podcast for iOS Developers.
And then we could either add media here or we could drag and drop the file directly.
Let's come in and
grab our audio file from the project downloads, and see that we have some
custom options here that are a little bit different than what we had for the images.
We have the title, we can put in an artist,
album, caption, as well as a description, and
then choose to link to the file, link to an attachment page, or
in the one that we're going to do, embed the media player directly.
Let's go ahead and embed it, and we can see that we can even test and
play around with it before we publish the post.
And then when we come to view this post,
we can see it displaying on the front end using a great HTML 5 native audio player.
Go ahead and use the sample audio file that we provide to try to create
a new blog post that uses this native audio player to play the file.
