One Solution1:16 with Nick Pettit
What did you come up with? Does it motivate the user to finish their profile? Here's one solution.
What did you come up with?
Does it motivate the user to finish their profile?
Here's the solution I made.
Here, I'm showing a profile photo of the user.
I'm just using a photo of myself in this case.
Around the photo, I have this incomplete circle that represents a progress meter.
The more complete the circle, the more complete the profile.
This gives the user some idea of how much more they have to go,
relative to how much they've already filled in.
Then below that there's a list of actions that they can take next,
which are hyperlinked with a little check box next to them.
Ideally, these hyperlinks would be contextual, and take them
to the exact location within the app, where they should fill in more detail.
Showing these next actions gives the user some idea of what types of
things they can do to complete their profile.
If your design looks a lot different than mine, don't worry.
Problems like these come with many different solutions.
What's important here is that you get practice thinking about the problem itself
and working through it.
