Brief introduction to the workshop
Hi there, my name is Pasan, and I am an iOS and Swift instructor at Tree House.
In this workshop series, we're going to talk about what's new in Swift Four, and
what that means to you as a developer.
We'll also touch on some x code related topics where it intersects with Swift,
since it affects your workflow moving forward.
Swift 4 includes many changes.
21 proposals have been implemented to be specific.
But we're only going to be covering a subset of those.
Around ten of these relate to the Swift package manager and
we'll cover those in a separate series.
Of the remaining eleven, some of the changes are minor improvements.
So we'll focus on six of the largest ones that you'll encounter in your day-to-day.
To keep the series manageable,
I’m going to focus on the main points of some of these changes.
For the intermediate and advanced Swift programmers and
for those of you who are just interested, you can dig into the specifics
by checking out the teachers' notes for related content.
Let's get started in the next video.
