[MUSIC] 0:00 Hi there, my name is Pasan, and I am an iOS and Swift instructor at Tree House. 0:04 In this workshop series, we're going to talk about what's new in Swift Four, and 0:09 what that means to you as a developer. 0:14 We'll also touch on some x code related topics where it intersects with Swift, 0:16 since it affects your workflow moving forward. 0:20 Swift 4 includes many changes. 0:24 21 proposals have been implemented to be specific. 0:26 But we're only going to be covering a subset of those. 0:30 Around ten of these relate to the Swift package manager and 0:33 we'll cover those in a separate series. 0:36 Of the remaining eleven, some of the changes are minor improvements. 0:38 So we'll focus on six of the largest ones that you'll encounter in your day-to-day. 0:42 To keep the series manageable, 0:47 I’m going to focus on the main points of some of these changes. 0:49 For the intermediate and advanced Swift programmers and 0:53 for those of you who are just interested, you can dig into the specifics 0:56 by checking out the teachers' notes for related content. 1:00 Let's get started in the next video. 1:03
