If you want to be more productive, you first have to identify: what is it you want to do? Make your goals personally relevant, and create visual reminders.
Many people ask themselves how they can be more productive. 0:04 Whether you're in an office, a school, your home, or on 0:08 the road, it seems like there's always more you wanna get done. 0:12 But in our busy lives, many things 0:15 are competing for our limited time and attention. 0:18 But, being productive isn't just about getting things done. 0:21 It should also be about getting them done more quickly, getting 0:24 them done more easily, and, of course, producing something better each time. 0:27 In this series of videos, we're going to share some tips 0:34 on how to be more productive in whatever work situation you're in. 0:37 I'll recommend some tools and apps you might want to consider 0:41 and some productivity strategies that you can try on your own. 0:43 If you want to be more productive, you first 0:47 have to identify what is it you want to do. 0:50 Now this might sound like an obvious question, but if we don't 0:53 know what we're working towards, it's difficult to take that first step. 0:56 Now, this could be connected to a job or project you have 1:00 at work or school or personal goals that you've set for yourself. 1:03 Naturally, personal and professional goals can run the gamut to 1:07 include ideas like, I wanna lose weight, I want to 1:11 write a blog post everyday, I wanna learn Ruby, or 1:14 even, I wanna quit my job and work for myself. 1:18 Well whatever your goals are, it's important to identify them 1:22 clearly and figure out how important they are to you. 1:25 Goals, especially personal ones, are difficult to complete 1:29 if you're not all that passionate about them. 1:33 So, choose something that truly matters to you. 1:35 Once you've identified some goals for yourself, it's 1:39 important to make a note of them somewhere. 1:42 Motivations come and go. 1:44 We can't rely on our brains to keep reminding us to achieve our goals. 1:46 We have too many things to do during the day and we get distracted. 1:51 Well posting about it on Facebook or 1:54 Instagram is nice, but those things disappear quickly. 1:57 Plus, publicly stating that you want to accomplish something big 2:01 by a certain time immediately puts undue pressure on yourself. 2:04 Instead, make your goals personal, but easily accessible. 2:08 Write your goals down, create a graphic, or make it your desktop background. 2:14 If we're talking about professional goals or things to do at work, 2:19 make a check list or set reminders for yourself on your calender. 2:22 Whether it's physical or electronic, it's important to have 2:27 a constant reminder of the goals that we're working toward. 2:30 So, don't file them away out of sight. 2:33 The extra visual motivation can go a long way. 2:36
