Sign upHey. I'm Amit. 0:00 You're probably here because you want to learn how to build an app for 0:00 the iPhone or iPad. 0:05 Possibly even a watch. 0:08 Well, you've come to the right place. 0:10 Learning to build an app is kind of like putting a car together. 0:13 You need to first learn how it works and 0:17 know the purpose of each part before you can start replacing or even fixing them. 0:19 Similarly, before you learn to build an app, 0:26 you need to learn the programming language that will help you do so. 0:29 Apple recently introduced a new programming language 0:34 called Swift which makes it really easy to get started. 0:38 Learning Swift is easy thanks to a software called Xcode which now comes with 0:43 an interactive playground allowing you to try out all the language features so 0:49 you can get comfortable with them. 0:54 And as the name suggests, it's a playground, so feel free to play. 0:57 We will make extensive use of playgrounds while learning Swift. 1:02 Once you have a good grasp on Swift, we will move on to learning iOS, 1:07 which is the operating system that powers iPhones, iPads, and watches. 1:13 So you might hear the words iOS development or 1:20 iPhone development interchangeably. 1:23 You build iOS apps with the iOS SDK, or software development kit. 1:28 The SDK is vast, so we're going to tackle it bit by bit by building complete 1:34 apps from the ground up that expose us to the various aspects of the SDK. 1:40 We hope the track will have provided you with a good foundation so 1:47 that you can further your knowledge once you have completed it. 1:51 [NOISE] If you're looking to make a career as an iOS developer, then we 1:53 recommend creating a few apps of your own and submitting them to the app store. 1:58 Of course that is after you have completed this track. 2:03 Whether you're looking for a job or hoping to freelance, future employers or 2:08 clients will need proof that you can actually do the work. 2:13 Moreover, you might want to share some of your work on GitHub so 2:18 that they can review your code. 2:22 There's a lot of exciting stuff to learn, so if you're ready, join us. 2:25 And let's get started. 2:28 [BLANK_AUDIO] 2:29
