An Introduction to the WordPress Customizer1:17 with Zac Gordon
In this video we introduce the WordPress Customizer, a live edit view that let’s you change various things about your site including the style, widgets, and menus.
Try launching the Customizer and making some changes to your site. You can choose to either Save and Publish these changes or cancel them and leave your site as it is.
WordPress has a great live preview option called the Customizer.
This lets you make changes to different aspects of your site and see how
they'll look before saving those changes and making them visible to everyone.
When you load the Customizer, you'll see a number of options in a sidebar, and
the front end of your site in the main view.
Over the course of the next few videos, we're going to take a look at and practice
using the Customizer to do things like change the title of our site, customize
the header and background imaging graphics and manage menus and widgets.
The Customizer and WordPress is continuously evolving and would likely
include much more in the future allowing you to edit your site with a live preview.
Certain plugins and themes may also add additional options to the Customizer.
Let's try and launching the Customizer now and making some changes to your site.
You can choose to either save and publish these changes, or cancel them and
leave your site as it is.
In the next video, we'll look at some of the common Customizer options in
WordPress, but I encourage you first to try walking through it on your own.
