Allowing a fast forward option

Hey Team Treehouse!

I've taken a few courses on Coursera and noticed that they have a "fast forward option" in order to speed up the course lecture video.

Just wondering if there's any plans have having a feature like this as I think it would be useful in helping us speeding up our learning.

Thanks guys and you're doing a kick butt job!

Hmm... I've never felt the need to fast forward a video when I'm learning something new, but I go back to old videos all. the. time. So it might be useful, but I usually just skip around. My biggest problem is that the video just stops randomly and I need to refresh my page to get it to start up again. This is the only site where that happens to me.

Hey Ernest,

I'm finding that the videos stop randomly too, which is a bit annoying and disruptive in terms of user experience/learning, but I just try to jump back to where I was right away.

Really? Glad to see I'm not the only one. What browser are you using? I'm in Chrome, but I haven't tried other browsers honestly.

I prefer downloading the videos and whenever I need to rewatch them, that's the time I use the faster play option of VLC. It's a big time saver. It's like watching an 8 min video in 4-5 min or less.

Thanks for the tip, Paul.

That seems to be a good work around I suppose.

I have the same problem with the videos randomly pausing. I too need to refresh the page to get the video restarted.

Lynda.com has a feature where you can watch the video at different speeds. i find that to be extremely helpful. For the concepts I am familiar with, I can watch at a faster pace.

Hmm... I totally neglected the download option. That's a good tip.

I would love the ability to watch the videos on 1.5x the speed. Almost every other company with video tutorials has this feature. <feature request please :)>

Agree, I'd like to be able to watch the videos at 1.5x.

Official feature request has been made. I wonder if there is a place for feature requests or if admins respond/read these threads?

Just email support for any requests.

warp speed enabled...thank you.

My videos stop randomly, too. It's hella annoying. I'm on Chrome, with no ad block enabled on the site...

Blazing fast internet, too.

I've confirmed that this is an issue with Chrome. The freezing is no longer a problem when I use Safari.

How strange.
