18,274 PointsCrystal Ball app to be retired? why?
I really liked that course, and still using it sometimes, especially the videos that cover the "publishing on google store" info. I always watch parts of them to make sure I didn't forget something. and those videos doesn't exist on the newer version of "building a simple app". what does it mean "retired"? the crystall ball app project will be completly deleted?

Treehouse TeacherGreat question, and I'm so glad you still get value out of it!
I'm retiring the course because the new version of Build a Simple Android App uses the latest version of Android Studio. It's really about the tools because the concepts covered are still valid. Eclipse and ADT really got weird a little while back compared to the course because of how creating a project has changed, and it's caused a lot of confusion.
"Retired" fortunately doesn't mean deleted! We don't do a great job of communicating this. It will still be available with a direct link, but it will be removed from the library and track. You can also download the videos and project files using the links in the Downloads section on each video.
I separated publishing into a new new small standalone project so that I could maintain it more easily going forward since the web interface seems to change more often than the tools. I'm actually recording some if it today! We don't have a release date set yet, but it shouldn't be long and should be before we retire Crystal Ball.

18,274 PointsThat's the direct link to the project: http://teamtreehouse.com/library/build-a-simple-android-app-old
like Ben said, you can download each video in the "Downloads" tab below the video.
hope that helped.

9,688 PointsThis works only if the course is still available and you hurry to download it now. e.g The Crystal-ball app is retired on friday, I log into treehouse next week after being busy whole week and realize I missed the window to download the course. So what about the courses that have already been retired. How do we access those and download for private use? They still contain useful information even though some methods are deprecated.

9,688 PointsBen Jakuben In regards to your 2nd point. Where can we download those old videos? For instance, in the past Amit had an iOS course where he went through xibs, and a lot of old methods. While it is true that most of these are outdated, at times you may meet a client who has a prebuilt application which uses those old methods, it would be nice to still have access to those for reference.

Treehouse TeacherKerde Severin, you can email help@teamtreehouse.com and ask for links to old courses. I thought you could still access the course URL directly, but it looks like it only works video by video. I'll ask more about this, but in the mean time, check with our support team via email.
