Notifications

Hey Jody, what kind of notifications would you like?

Ryan, others have asked for this, too in other threads. It seems that they'd like something akin to Facebook's notification button: the little blue globe at the top that is marked with a red [1] when there's an update to a topic that you're a part of. Am I right Jody?

Just some sort of widget in the top right that would notify users of posts that were responded to. If categories are added it will be very useful to see at a glance if someone posted to a topic you are following. A notification center could be useful for other areas of the site as well. Badge unlocks, content updates, etc.

I like the way github does it, and it would be much easier than the way facebook does it in real time. I don't care if it's not real time, it can update on refresh.

In the bar there is a simple widget that changes color to let you know you have notifications.

maybe a subscription for each stage. so when the attach file got changed, a correction happen to the video CC, a new stage added to the island or so many other things...

I think It'll be nice to have a notification center!
