Python or Ruby?

I'm going to pursue a Master's in 2015. I'm curious as to which language would be more beneficial for the degree as well as future employment prospects? I want my degree to be computer science but I plan to specialize or conduct research in the data science and business intelligence fields. Right now I have no background in either languages but I know C/C++/PHP. Would appreciate any answers!

python seems to be used a lot in scientific fields. honestly once you know one language its very easy to pick up others so you wont have any issues learning both. no reason not to learn them both really.

I like ruby syntax a lot more than python, so if I had to pick one (which you dont) id learn ruby. they are both nice languages though. simple syntax yet extremely powerful
