Video Trouble

it seems no matter what lesson i try the video stops like every 5 seconds , was wondering if anyone else is have playback issues as well or if someone might have a solution for me.

Can you tell us which browser (and version number) you are using? Also which operating system?

Google crome Version 24.0.1312.52 m and Windows 7

I'm on the same version on Mac Mountain Lion and it is working smoothly for me right now. Can you try restarting the browser? I know people have playback issues here and there; maybe the community will chime in with advice if you continue to have problems. If it continues to be an issue we can let our support team know.

this has bee going on for a few days and i have restated the browser, video streaming everywhere else for me is flawless so idk whats up

You can change your setting in Treehouse to use Flash-based video instead of HTML5

If that doesn't work here are few things to try:

  • Using Incognito mode
  • Using a different browser
  • Using a different PC

Most likely it's an extension that is causing a conflict. Trying the above steps can help narrow down what the issue is.

it might be my computer or something becuase i got the same issue still with the flash version and same results with other broswers, ill just pause to let it load, im going to try to get a new computer anyways , thanks for the help guys !

The Flash switched worked for me when I was having problems a while back on a different computer.

Treehouse doesn't support Windows... just kidding. Although you'd be forgiven for thinking that, considering all the app reviews on the Show are Mac-only.

Maybe today is especially slow from the free trial announcement on Webdesigner Depot? I just signed up today and really haven't been able to watch anything, including the welcome video.

Tried the flash video option, doesn't seem to help. Tried Chrome, IE, Firefox and Safari. Tried Mac, Windows 8, Windows 7... No luck. Currently downloading one of the creative videos at about 80kbps.

Could definitely be possible (referring to Shaun). Have to let the videos buffer up. Switching Browsers / Flash did not do it justice for me. I'm sure everything will return to normal in time.

This is happening to me too. Are there any more solutions? I would love to use the product but after three days of this (after restarting computer/browser, stopping extensions etc) its still not working well. When you click to download the videos it runs extremely slow (more than 10 minutes for a 8 MB file).

@Jordan - Email help@teamtreehouse.com with everything you've tried and details about which browser and OS versions are affected. Also make sure it note when you were last able to use Treehouse.
