Excel has a feature which lets you
quickly change the design of your chart
0:00
based on some preset
packages they have built.
0:04
So, if we click this chart,
and go to Design, right here,
0:08
there's this section that has a bunch
of different prebuilt designs.
0:14
So, if I go here, and I'm not clicking
on these, I'm just scrolling over them,
0:21
you can see there is a total
different styles that are prebuilt.
0:26
Some have gradients,
some have different coloring,
0:29
very different coloring, here you can
see the background has this line on it.
0:36
What design you chose will often
depend on your organization or
0:41
your own personal tastes.
0:45
For example, I like to keep
the colors relatively simple and
0:48
avoid using any of the 3D or shadow glow
features that are available in Excel.
0:52
As you play around with charts and
visualization more and more, you'll
0:57
probably create your own personal style,
and develop your own personal preferences.
1:02
But make sure that you're always thinking
about the people that you're working with,
1:06
and the audience you're
telling your story to.
