Setting Up a New JupyterLab Environment

Jupyter Lab is a web application that allows you to combine code, rich text, plots, and other media into a single document. You can also share notebooks online with others or use them as executable documents.

Note: there are two files, one is for this segment of the course and the other is for later.

Setting up a Jupyter Lab

  1. Open Anaconda Navigator
  2. Launch JupyterLab
  3. Create a new folder to save your work
  4. Move the downloaded CSV file into that folder
  5. Click the "New Notebook" icon
  6. Rename the notebook, PokemonDataViz

Remember to save your work often!

    Now that we've gone through an overview of the different 0:00

    Once the CSV file is downloaded, you can drag and drop it into the Jupyter 0:44

    Finally, we are ready to click the new notebook button from the Jupyter launcher. 0:55
    The Notebook will be untitled, so let's rename it. 1:03

    Make sure you save your work, you can click on the File menu tab and 1:12
    click Save or use the keyboard shortcut Command S on Mac and Ctrl S on PC. 1:18
