Passwords are one of the most common pieces of data that we have to store for users and one of the most dangerous to lose control of.
While a salt, as I suggested in the video, is definitely your first step, there's much, much more to safely storing passwords. This article outlines a lot of those steps and many of the libraries below facilitate them, too.
