Installing Linux on the Virtual Machine
6:27Next we need to create a new virtual machine to hold our new operating system, and then install Linux onto it. The process is similar to plugging installation media into an actual computer, but we'll do it all virtually.
Next we're going to need an OS to
install on our virtual machine.

We've chosen a Ubuntu too
because it's commonly used.

To download it, visit To Ubuntu.com and
then click on the download link.

And choose a Ubuntu Server.

You'll have a choice between a couple
different versions of Ubuntu,

we're going to want the LTS version,
which stands for long term support.

Basically that means it's going to
be a more stable version of Ubuntu.

It'll begin downloading an ISO
file which is basically a virtual

CD-ROM image from which
you can install Ubuntu.

ready to create a new virtual machine,
