In this video you will learn the three basic logo types and examples of each. We will also see examples of mixing and matching logo types.

The first is the mark. This is what most people think of when they hear the word "logo."

This is the gem, or symbol, that represents a company or an identity.

The second type of logo is the type lockup. This is simply type that represents the identity.

Sometimes, it's as simple as using Helvetica or as complex as creating graphics from a character.

The last type of logo are illustrative logos.

Just about every sports team and every sports league has an illustrative logo which represents their mascot.

Now, sometimes designers might mix and match logo types.
