Before on embarking on this course, be sure you've taken these courses first:
In this course, whether you follow along using workspaces or download the project files, you'll be using node to run your code. This is simple. In workspaces, node is all set up for you. On your local machine, you must first install node. When you want to run a file, use your terminal to navigate to the file directory (you don't have to worry about navigating in workspaces either). Once you're in the file's directory, simply type
node your-filename.js into the terminal and hit enter. Any output from your file will be displayed in the terminal. If you don't have node installed, keep reading for installation instructions.
Installing Node on Your Local Machine
If you'd like to download node.js on your local machine, visit the Node.js website, and follow the instructions there.
