Building a Simple Agent Task in Claude Cowork

Claude with hands. Watch an agent research the web, build a comparison table, and save a real spreadsheet to your computer with no step-by-step instructions from you, then read a local file and analyze it. Finish by scheduling the whole thing to run every Monday morning on its own.

Vocabulary

  • Agent — AI that takes action rather than just producing text. You give it a goal; it picks the steps, uses tools, and works until the job is done. A chatbot answers questions; an agent completes tasks.
  • CRUD — The four things you can do with stored data: Create, Read, Update, Delete.
  • CSV (Comma-Separated Values) — A plain-text spreadsheet format — each line a row, commas between columns. The most common way to move data between tools.
