Course Request: PSD to Web

I am looking for a way to teach competent developers how to efficiently take a complex design file and to output a near pixel perfect live version. I feel like this is a skill that many lack or simply choose to overlook.

Do you guys have anything similar in the pipeline? Or perhaps I missed something while running through the courses.

I feel that a slice tutorial is existent or in the pipeline...

If not I would also like to see something similar, it doesn't hurt to have more information and lessons.

Hi Aqeel and Joseph,

Our Photoshop Foundations Deep Dive will release a new badge next month on Photoshop Slices and Saving for Web, which will teach you how to create and manage slices for user interface elements. It will also cover the basics of the Save for Web feature.

Thanks Guil!

I'm really looking forward to this.

Thanks for the reply Guil, I will wait and see how the slicing tutorial plays out.

But I was thinking something along the lines of a comprehensive project like Smells like Bakin. Where it progressively goes from design to end product. Technically you could even do a prequel for Smells like Bakin, although it is a bit too simple.

In a larger/archaic team environment where most roles are segregated and there is a heavy reliance on psds, it becomes crucial that the end product is pixel perfect to the provided design.

Not sure this is cool or not, but there is an amazing PSD to HTML tutorial out there that really gets into the details. Slicing really isn't too helpful in the whole scheme of things, just to extract content.

I watched the first few videos for free on youtube.

Also, there is this video, just not as well done.

Hey Mark,

Thanks for the input, it is greatly appreciated. I will give it a quick run through and give my feedback. I imagine the forum was created just for this reason, so don't be shy to share resources.

Also Mr.Carson said in another post: "We're about to release a Learning Adventure called "Become a Frontend Developer ". It'll be perfect for you! :) Hoping to set that live mid-Jan."

So we have that to look forward to.
