Better alternative than advanced custom fields plugin.

Another tool (though not "premium" in terms of being paid) is CMB2, which is managed by the folks at Web Dev Studios. It's what they use for their client development, as well as a lot of other developers doing very code intensive work. WebDevStudios/CMB2 https://github.com/CMB2/CMB2
