3,839 Points[Console Foundation] How do I type a tilde (~)
I cant seem to find the ~ on my keyboard and googling it was not very fruitful. I need to use it apparently for navigating my directories in the console.
Thanks to whoever can help me.

7,216 PointsWhat is your keyboard layout? I had to switch from the german QWERTZ to the english QWERTY layout to get the tilde in the console to work (also on a mac).

9,481 PointsI ran into a similar problem: I'm using the german QWERTZ layout on a mac keyboard. I don't have a "Alt Gr" on this so I can't create a ~ or | on the treehouse console.
Any trick or way to change my keyboard layout?

A quick Google for OS X keyboard layout
turned up this tutorial as it's first result, it should get you pointed in the right direction

9,481 PointsThanks, but I was looking for a way to change the layout style just for the terminal but leaving the rest of my computer as usual.
Something like kbdconfig or loadkeys?!

James Barnett
39,199 PointsI don't think kdbconfig or loadkeys do that.
