14,928 PointsPersonally, I prefer to do it with as the video plays because it helps make sure that I know what I'm coding. Plus, if I have to, I can simply pause at the end and work from there. Just personal preference.
It also helps to have either a large monitor or dual monitor set-up so that both are easy to read and scan for errors.

229,644 PointsYou can just watch the videos if that works for you. But depending on your learning style, the "code along" might help things stick in your memory better.
