Genymotion for personal use Virtualization, engine not found. Plugin loading aborted

I'm trying to get genymotion/virtual box running on my PC(windows 8.1, 64 bit), to use with android studio. But am having the issue(s) detailed below.

I followed the directions found here: ( wiki.appcelerator.org/display/guides2/Installing+Genymotion ).

I DLed AS(studio), then the "ready-to-run" GM(geny)/VB(box) DL. I have opened VB, have not attempted to make a VM yet but it looks like it DLed properly. When GM tried to open, under the logo, it reads "Genymotion for personal use" \n "Virtualization engine not found. Plugin loading aborted."

Also, in a window("Unable to load VirtualBox engine")

Unable to load VirtualBox engine.

Make sure that it is properly installed before starting Genymotion.

I am getting this same error on Windows. I have downloaded the latest VirtualBox install. Ran it as administrator. Downloaded the latest Genymotion and installed it as administrator. Then when I try to run Genymotion it tells me that it can't find virtualization and that it can't load plugins. I am not sure what is going on. Does anyone know what to do to fix this?

I had the same error when I initially installed genymotion with virtualbox to my PC. I installed the plugin to Android Studio, let Android Studio restart, and then restarted genymotion... after that it all worked ok, just like in the following video.

Why don't you just uninstall and re-download from this link https://www.genymotion.com/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter#!/download

download the GM/virtualbox package. It should be a straight forward install. Try to run/install as adminstrator (right click).
