' + guess + ' doesn't add the variable to the string???

as title says, cant figure it out guys

If you would like to concatenate a variable with a string, make sure you concatenate outside the quotation marks:

var string =  'What is ' + guess + ', Alex?';

OR If you are attempting variable interpolation inside a template literal with ES2015, this is the correct syntax (note the backtics instead of single quotes):

var string = `What is ${guess}, Alex?`;
