Notification for your business Domain name search engine registration??

Hi guys,

So, I created my first WordPress website and used Web Hosting for Students to buy the domain. Everything was fine until today, when I received this e-mail:

Attention: Important Notice , DOMAIN SERVICE NOTICE Domain Name: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx As a courtesy to domain name holders, we are sending you this notification for your business Domain name search engine registration. This letter is to inform you that it's time to send in your registration.

Failure to complete your Domain name search engine registration by the expiration date may result in cancellation of this offer making it difficult for your customers to locate you on the web.

Privatization allows the consumer a choice when registering. Search engine registration includes domain name search engine submission. Do not discard, this notice is not an invoice it is a courtesy reminder to register your domain name search engine listing so your customers can locate you on the web.

This Notice for: xxxxxxxxxxx will expire at 11:59PM EST, 15 - August - 2016 Act now! Select Term and Package Here

It seem to cost another 47$! Does it mean I need to pay more to just be able to find my website via google or bing? Any idea why does it say "your business Domain name", when it's just a private website? If you have any advice it would be awesome! Cheers!

You can safely ignore that email, it is a scam. You do not need to register your site anywhere for it to be indexed by Google, Bing, etc.

It is not a message from "Web Hosting for Students" just a scammer that has found your email address, most likely from the WHOIS record of your domain.

Great! Thank you so much! Hope you're having an amazing day! :)
