(4.01 and onwards) Where the new layers come from?

4.01 Where did the new layers come from? You didn't say a thing about how to create a new layer with your own picture?

Are you asking how to create a new layer? Have you looked at the Layer Basics stage in the Photoshop Foundations course yet?

You can create a new layer by going to Layer -> New -> Layer... or you can click the new layer icon at the bottom of the Layers toolbar.

If you want to put your own picture in a layer, you can open that picture in Photoshop, select all (Ctrl + A) and copy (Ctrl + C), go back to your document and make sure you have the correct layer selected, and then paste it in (Ctrl + V). That's how I do it at least, there may be a better way.

Hope that helps!
