A guide to creating video controls similar to the controls on Treehouse videos?

The videos feature volume and speed icons that when hovered over produce a range where the user can select volume and speed of video. I'm looking for a guide on how to create this. I found a blog entry about creating custom HTML5 video controls (http://blog.teamtreehouse.com/building-custom-controls-for-html5-videos) however it does not cover the aforementioned topics. Does a tutorial exist?

Check out this course.

Also please note that if you need custom styling, as Treehouse player has, you can also do that but it takes a little bit of more research. You'll probably succeed with it ;)
