Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java Strings, Variables, and Formatting

A question concerning different types of java.

The past year in University I have learned how to print out using System.out.println ("..."). How come we don't use that and what has "console" to do with it?

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
String firstName = "Nikola";
console.printf ("Nikola");

1 Answer

Because you are working with the console. If you're not using the console, you should always use System.out.print
