A victory for android studio!?

A new begginers project is being added to the android course but instead of using eclipse as usual it is going to teach how to make the app using android studio to begginers ! What do you think? Is android studio becoming the default supported android development enviroment. What do you love about android studio?

Considering it's JetBrains + Google together that already shows a lot of investment in it. And that it will be the officially endorsed Android IDE will make it almost inevitable that it will be the industry standard for android development. It's not quite there yet but it would be almost foolish to make a new beginner's course and use Eclipse again, there's issues with Android studio for sure but it's getting pretty stable already and the Intelli J code base already gives it quite a lot above Eclipse in my opinion.
